10/04/17 Cape Greco. Despite a very windy day we had a good day out with Ian and Kate with around 40 species seen. Both Grey and Purple Herons were migrating around the coast. A migrating Common Cuckoo arrived near by, also newly arrived were a number of Whinchat, Common Redstart, Northern, Black-eared and Cyprus Wheatears. Warblers included Common Whitethroat, Eurasian Blackcap, Wood, Subalpine, Spectacled, Willow and Eastern Bonelli's Warbler. Both Collared and Pied Flycatchers along with Eurasian Wryneck and Blue Rock Thrush were also in the area.

Eastern Black-eared Wheatear (Oenanthe melanoleuca), it comes in both a light and dark throated forms, this one being a light throated male. A common passage migrant being more common in spring
Collared Flycatcher (Ficedula albicollis), a common spring migrant
Eurasian Pied Flycatcher (Ficedula hypoleuca), a common spring passage migrant
